  • Nora Roberts — ‘If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.’
If you never try and let your voice be heard no one will know what you desire and no one will be able to help. By choosing not to ask the question, you are denying any other possible outcome as you are the only one who knows what you want and have chosen not to purse it, your the one saying no to yourself. However, when you ask the question you are making room for possibility as you are opening up the playing field to chance. What was once 100% no, has now got a 50/50 or 80/20 chance etc. Don’t be the one to deny yourself from an opportunity.
  • Laughter is the best medicine
Sometimes all you need is to find something that brings a smile to your face. Laughter is the best mood boaster out there. Once you find something that makes you laugh keep notes of it so its easier the next time to get a pick me up on those days that are just too hard. One thing on my list is cute animal videos.
  • “The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.” — Franklin D. Roosevelt
Ones perception varies from another based on ones environment and conceptualization, our limits are set based on our perceptions. Our perception creates our limits in forms of doubt and fear. These limits in turn affect our future, when we run away or avoid a situation we don’t get to discover the real outcome, the chance we had to grow and learn something new is lost, and we are left with our same old view. The realization we could have received from acting is lost and we remain where we are. Realization comes through experience but when you are fill with doubts of uncertainty your are unable to act and discover what’s ahead. Franklin D. Roosevelt wouldn’t have come so far if he didn’t take his own advice. Let’s now takes his advice and watch how the shadows in front of us slowly disappear. See through your doubts of today, look them right in the eye and understand them for there to come a greater realization.
  • One must turn fear into strength!
For a while now I haven’t been acting on my fair stairway, unknowingly I reverted back into my comfort zone, back into the activities of a mediocre life e.g. a 9-5 job, chores, YouTube, shopping etc. What woke me up was this video I happened to see on YouTube shorts during my daily scrolls. Through it I quickly realized that I wasn’t living the life I wanted to live and the only way I am going to live the life I want is by facing my fears. I unknowingly used the everyday activities as an excuse to stay hidden and trapped in this small world I’ve created. Time to once again take a deep breath, have a set intention in my mind and take that turn to face my fears. I’ll start it of with something relatively simple on my list and that is to catch up with a friend I haven’t spoken to in a long time. It might seem relatively easy and fun but in my mind it’s easier said then done. Have you had that hesitation when you meet someone you haven’t meet in a long time, you wonder if you still have that click or will things just be awkward or it’s been to long won’t it come as shock if I message them all of a sudden? Well that’s what I’m facing, along with this I seem to have created an inferior complex. That once we meet up they will see how behind I am in life and won’t even bother being friends anymore, ruining all the great memories we had as kids. Isn’t that ironic the end result of my fear is how things are actually like right now. We haven’t spoken in years, they might not even be any memories there. What I actually fear is not the outcome but the stories created in my mind. The only way to overcome that fear is by ending this fictional story in my mind and reading the non fiction book. Time to take action and see how it really ends up. I have nothing to lose right? Wish me luck, here I go sending that txt message.
  • Quotes- Words that hit differently
There are many quotes out there, from many people, some more famous then others, some in the form of movies, books, tv shows while others in the form of speeches, poems and debates. How they come about may vary but one thing for sure it how they hit. We all have a list of quotes that for some reason or another have stuck a cord with us. These quotes stick with us and get our minds turning, some giving us a quick realization, while others may cause us to ponder. What’s are those quotes for you? A few of mine are below. “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein “The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.” – Tony Robbins “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” – Norman Vincent Peale “Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.” – Charles R. Swindoll
