Procrastination

Check in. New year, new you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Can’t believe it’s actually 2023, time has just flown by. It’s funny how much of the year I actually remember. When every day feels the same, time just seems to pass you by. As I sat down to look over the year, I could only think of a handful of achievements and as you can imagine that doesn’t make you feel to great.

I’ve secretly been hoping to wake up one morning as a new person. A person who is fit and healthy. Someone who has the confidence in herself to achieve whatever I put my mind to. A person that is social and outgoing, who has the ability to hold a conversation and befriend anyone. Someone who knows what they want to do with their life and the direction they need to take.

But then I wake up in the same place, doing the same thing and feeling more and more disappointed in myself. I need to stop putting things off and take the action required now that will slowly change my life.

Action

To be honest taking action is something I am still struggling with. It has been my goal for the last 3 years, and I feel like I haven’t really taken much over the years as I still feel stuck in the same place. Just saying in need to take action isn’t working, the concept is to vague. I am going to change it up this year, make a record of all the actions I take this year. Each day I’ll write down a specific action in need to take and once done, mark it of. We need to become conscious of what we need to act on, as soon as we become conscious of it ACT.

There are so many sources out there regarding new year resolutions. Every year many people post their resolutions, any tips they have, tops habits to gain. Every year I would watch these videos, follow a few things from various sources soon to stop as I saw no improvement.

I think this year I am going to just be more present. Present about my time, environment, feelings and thoughts, my actions and their consequences. If by the end of the year I am able to remember just a bit more key moments from this year then last, I’ll call that an achievement.

This new year is for you, so live it however you want. Take each day as it comes See each day as a new beginning where you can be that new you or at least work your way to the person you want to be. Choose your goal and find a way to act on it. Clear your mind and environment from the clutter of last year and start fresh.

I am here to tell you despite whatever people have been telling you or whatever you have been telling yourself, you have the ability to achieve whatever you decide on. You can do anything when you put your mind to it.

I’ll let you know when I have achieved my goals, so let me know how you go. 😊
