Declutter your space!
This is a goal I had for a while but never really had the time to do it. The job looked like a black hole to me and things kept piling up. As time went on the clutter around me began to effect my mental health. It would leave me feeling unmotivated, uncertain, and lazy. The physical clutter around me was converted into mental clutter within me, constantly leaving me mentally drained.
What better chance would I have to declutter my space then this festive season. My worries about having no time were no longer valid, as with holidays, I had all the time I would ever have.
Got moving at 2.0 on New Years eve cause what better way to start of the new year? The three basic guide lines concluded to a decluttered environment is below.
- Have a Give away box
- Throw Away box
- & have a place for everything you want to keep.
Only by doing it I began to realize that this is not a one time job, for your space to remain decluttered it must be maintain this way. All I was doing is setting the frame work for an organized, clutter free environment. And for this frame work to be maintained I simply need to follow a few steps.
- Put everything I use back in its place.
- Whenever I get something new I need to look if I have something similar and if I do decide on what I should do with it.
- Set some time out every month and do a mass sweep of my space, asking myself if the items around me have brought me joy in any way or have come to use. If not, I will decide if it should be given away or disposed.
With the frequency of these actions, soon the task will become relatively quick and easy as a system has been put in place to maintain a clutter free environment. The clarity of the space around you will contribute to your mental clarity.
Get control back the over your life by simply decluttering your space and start this year of with a bang.
